JUST IN: ADHA DECLARES HON.DEPOLIS' SEAT VACANT FOR DEFECTING TO APC

Adamawa State House of Assembly has just declared the seat of the member representing Michika constituency, Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada, vacant for defecting to APC. NEWS PLATFORM can report.

Hon. Kwada had over the weekend in Michika decamped to the opposition APC from PDP and cited injustice as to the reason behind his action.

Hon. Kwada known as the Depolis was the third legislator to cross carpet to other political parties in the state.

It could be recalled that the members representing Mayo Belwa and Mubi South, Hon. Ibrahim Musa Italiya (ADC) and Hon. Umar Musa Bororo(APC) recently defected to APC and PDP respectively.

The Speaker of the House declared the seat of the member vacant following a constitutional matter to that effect by Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo(Numan).

Hon. Mackondo cited section 109(1) of the 1999 constitution where he informed the assembly that any member who decamp to other political party without any reason his seat should be declared vacant.

After declaring the embattled member's seat vacant, the assembly however adjourned its sitting to the 1st August, 2022.
