Member representing Yola North Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hamidu Sajo Lekki, on Friday disbursed cash to about 1000 women and youths.
The beneficiaries who cut across the 11 wards which comprise Yola North constituency, were given from N10, 000, to N50, 000, cash depending on their types of businesses.
This is the 1st phase of 2022 empowerment programme organised by Hon. Lekki, aimed at providing cash support to his constituents so as to make them become self reliant in the society.
NEWS PLATFORM recalled that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, recently approved the sum of N40 million each to all the Honourable Members to execute constituency projects to their electorate; hence, Hon. Lekki's programme.
The programme is coming as stakeholders in Yola North Local Government Area, pledged their massive support towards the returned of Hon. Lekki, come 2023 general election.
According to the stakeholders, bringing back Hon. Lekki will enable him continue in empowering his constituents as well as lobbying for infrastructural development in Yola North LGA.
Speaking during his declaration and empowerment programme, Hon. Lekki appreciated his constituents for their support and promised to continue in providing good rerpresentation if given another chance.
Hon. Lekki, who used the forum and enumerated some of the achievements he recorded since assumption of office, assured them of his readiness to continue to lobby for infrastructure in Yola North.
In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Pwamwakemo Mackondo(Numan) called on the entire electorate in Yola North to vote for the legislator for second term.
Also speaking, the Chairman Elders Forum Jimeta, Kawu Wandala, assured the Lawmaker of their readiness to ensure his re-election, and appealed to their teeming supporters to vote for him.
On his part, the PDP Chairman Yola North LGA, Abdullahi Hamma Sarki, said that the party is proud of him and ready to support him towards ensuring his victory.
Baring his mind, the Chairman Transition Committee Yola North LGC, Nasiru Hammanjoda, told the gathering that his council has been working with the member to bring development in the area.
Also speaking, the Director Monitoring and Evaluation of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency(PAWECA), Mallam Sani Abdulkadir, commended the member for empowering his electorate, saying that the agency was created by the assembly to empower people at the grasstroots.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Malam Ya'u Maishayi Alkalawa Ward thanked the member for finding them worthy for the finasncial support, and promised to vote for him for second term.
