MASSIVE CROWD AS ENG ADAMU DECLARES FOR ADAMAWA SOUTHERN ZONE



Tumultuous crowd of supporters on Wednesday, thronged Makwada square in Numan in Adamawa State to witness the formal declaration of Eng. Adamu Ismaila Numan, for Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zone.



The crowd drawn from Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng, Mayo Belwa, Jada, Ganye and Toungo Local Government Areas which comprise the zone, pledged a bloc vote for the Aspirant.


Likewise, the massive crowd who comprise of represetatives of the leadership of APC at the State and LG level, delegates, party faithful, supporters,  friends and well wishers, expressed optimism for his success during primary and general election.


More interestingly, several leaders, delegates and supporters of the party who spoke during the event, declared that the mammoth crowd who besieged the venue was a clear indication of victory for him.


According to them, Eng. Adamu Ismaila Numan stands out as credible, trusted and saleable Aspirant who cannot only win primary election of the party, but the 2023 general election, and pledged 100 percent support.


Speaking while declaring his intention to contest for the seat, Eng. Adamu, told the crowd that he ventured into politics following pressure from various interest groups yearning for quality representation of the zone at the senate.


Eng. Adamu, said that his response to their clarion call was to consult various stakeholders ranging from party officials, community leaders, traditional rulers, youth and women, and tha their response was for him to contest for seat.


He disclosed that he joined APC Campaign team in 2019 after his retirement from the service of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Abuja, in 2016, and found out that the zone is the least developed in the state.


He noted that the zone has no single tertiary or health institution established either by the state or FG , saying that other infrastructural facilities required for the upliftment of the standard of education are also lacking.


He observed that no senatorial zone can boast of such a rich and colourful diversity like southern zone, explaining that if the diversity is properly managed/harnessed will produce the most vibrant, dynamic senatorial zone in the country.


According to him, if elected, he will be committed towards enacting legislations that will promote peace, progress, order, good governance and ensure that the zone benefits from government institutions, rehabilitation of roads.


He pledged to liaise with federal agencies for infrastructural development of the zone, facilitate the promotion of agriculture and ensure that the attention of the government is drawn towards extending canals from Kiri Dam to communities within Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng and Numan LGAs.


He vowed to work out modalities to ensure permanent and acceptable solution to clashes between farmers and herders, encourage economic empowernment of youth, women, small scale trader and entrepreneurs.


Eng. Adamu Ismaila Numan, appealed to the delegates to vote for the candidate that will have a sustained concern for their aspirations not only when their votes are needed.


In his remarks, the Chairman of the APC in the State, Alh. Ibrahim Bilal who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chairman, Samaila Taddawus, commended him for his support for the party.


He assured him and the crowd of the readiness of the party to conduct free and fair primary election, and added that the party will create a level playing ground for all its aspirants to exercise their francise.


Also speaking, a Stakeholder, Alh. Mijinyawa Kugama, disclosed that even a governorship aspirant cannot attract the crowd he saw, and urged the delegates not to allow anybody to divide them based on the ethno religious sentiment.


Kugama, informed them that Adamu's aspiration is not to go to Abuja and build an house or buy cars because he had all those things before his retirement from service.


Baring their minds, Alh. Uba Dan Arewa, Alh. Hussein Gambo Nakura, and representatives of the 9 LGAs, threw their weight behind his aspiration and apealed to the delegates to vote for him massively.


In a welcome address, APC Chairman Numan LGA, Hon. Ndikashe Mariko, solicited for support from other LGAs, to enable whom he described as son of the soil to clinch the election.
