FAKE NIMC STAFF ARRESTED FOR ISSUING FAKE ID CARDS

Police in Adamawa State have arrested 400 level student of Plateau State University Bokkos, who specialises in forging and issuing fake National ID cards. The 24 year old accused, Ajik Ishaq, who studies English and Literature at the university, was arrested at welcome to Yola, in Adamawa State on the 24th November, 2022. Ajik, was apprehended while parading as well as adverstising the kind of services he renders to people as staff of the National Identity Management Commission(NIMC). NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the fraudster had since defrauded about 28 unsuspecting citizens and realised the sum of N34, 000. only. MOTHER OF 8 IN POLICE NET FOR AIDING HUSBAND IN KIDNAPPING

A 36 year old woman, Bilkisu and her husband Nafiu Yusuf, are currently cooling their heels in one of the cells of the Adamawa State Police Command over allegation of kidnapping.   Bilkisu and mother 8 of Sangere in Yola South LGA, was arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting crime, while her lovely husband was apprehended for abduction. The accused and her husband, who were nabbed by the operatives of the command, were among the 27 suspects paraded by the  Commissoner of Police, S.K Akande, on Wednesday. NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the woman was nabbed following the arrest of her husband in connection to crime who eventually led the operatives to his residence for a search. Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 909 suspects, recovered 22 AK-47 as well as 48 locally fabricated riffles. NEWS PLATFORM can report. According to the Command, out of 909 suspects apprehended, 845 have since been prosecuted. It said that the suspects were nabbed in connection to armed robbery, kidnapping, culpable homicide, rape, other sexual offences among others. FINTIRI SHOWERS PRAISES ON REVENUE BOARD FOR IMPROVING IGR

Impressed by its performance in improving the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has showered praises on the Revenue Board for enhancing revenue profile of the State. Tukur The Federal High Court I in Yola, Adamawa State on Monday, nullified the primary election of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) which produced the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, as candidate for Central Senatorial District. The election was invalidated on grounds that an aspirant, Auwal D. Tukur, who participated in the exercise did not resign his appointment as the Chairman Governing Council of the State University Mubi, before contesting. Auwal Tukur's participation in the exercise without tendering his resignation letter brought about the nullification of the election which saw the emergence of Iya Abbas, as flagbearer. Federal High Court in Adamawa State on Friday, dismissed a suit instituted challenging the election of Hon. Abdullahi Umar Yapak, member representing Verre constituency at the House of Assembly. Hon. Justice A. M. Anka, who dismissed the suit while delivering judgement on Friday, held that the action is incompetent and dismissed it accordingly. The legislator who is seeking re-election for third term was declared winner of the APC primary election conducted on the 27th May, 2022. at Karlahi GDSS.  But dissatisfied with the election, Hon. APPEAL COURT REINSTATES BINANI AS APC GUBER CANDIDATE

The Court of Appeal Yola Division on Thursday, set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court which voided the election of the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aishatu Dahiru Binani. However, the court has upheld the candidature of Senator Binani, and ordered the party to forward her name to the electoral body ahead of the 2023 general election. The three member of the appellate court headed by Hon. Justice Tani Yusuf Hassan, set aside the lower court's verdict while delivering judgement on the appeal instituted by Binani. In a unanimous decision, the court allowed her appeal as sought and consequently set aside the lower court's judgement delivered on the 14th October, 2022, by Hon.Justice A. M. Anka. A 61 year old fake Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Olakunle Adesola, has been apprehended for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting members of the public to the tone of N10million. Adamawa State House of Assembly Committee on Education on Tuesday, organised a public hearing on a bill for a law to provide compulsory free education for pupils in primary and secondary schools. The public hearing was organised by the House Committee on Education, Tertiary and Professional Institutions headed by the Member representing Hong constituency, Hon. Bathiya Wesley. POLICE ARREST 52 YR OLD V/PRINCIPAL FOR RAPING A MINOR

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 52 year old Vice Principal Government Girls Secondary School(GGSS) Senior Section Murke in Song LGA, Enock Kwaleji, for raping a 13 years old girl. The suspect, Enock Kwaleji, was arrested on 20th Novemner, 2022 for allegedly raping the minor at Sangere Community in Jabbi Lamba,Girei LGA. A 38 year old female prayer warrior who is also a native doctor, Ruth Keneth, has been apprehended by the Adamawa State Command for allegedly conniving with kidnappers. Ruth and mother of 7, who resides along Numan road in Yola, Adamawa State, was accused of furnishing kidnappers with a phone number of a sick person brought to her from Bengo in Fufore LGA for prayers. The woman who was paraded at the police headquaters in Yola on Friday, said that her business is praying and administering herbs to those who have spiritual problems. The professed prayer warrior/native doctor landed herself in the soup few days after the sick person brought to her for prayers and his children were called by the suspects who demanded N10million ransom. About 10 Special Hunters in Lamurde Local Government Area, Adamawa state have appeared in court for allegedly killing a man, setting the corpse ablaze as well as inciting public disturbance. The affected hunters are facing trial before Hon. Justice Danladi Mohammed, led High Court on 4 count charges which they had denied it commission. The hunters are; Abubakar Hamman, 48 (Chairman),  Musa Mohammed, 38, Ibrahim NEPA, 35, Musa Ibrahim, 21, Ibrahim Jibrilla, 40, Abdullahi Siniya, 31 and Yusuf Buba, 39. About 10 Special Hunters in Lamurde Local Government Area, Adamawa state have appeared in court for allegedly killing a man, setting the corpse ablaze as well as inciting public disturbance. The affected hunters are facing trial before Hon. Justice Danladi Mohammed, led High Court on 4 count charges which they had denied it commission. Over 70,000 people from Adamawa state and environs are expected to attend a Global Crusade with Pastor(Dr.) W. F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church. BREAKING: POLICE BEGIN SHOOTING EXERCISE, URGE PUBLIC NOT TO PANIC

The Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command will today,  commence shooting exercise. The exercise will take place at the Counter Terrorism Unit base, Near Nas Radio station in Girei Local Government Area. An announcement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, which was made available to NEWS PLATFORM, explained that the exercise will last for 3 days. He asked members of the public especially those around the area not to panic when they hear sounds of gun shots. It also asked farmers to keep off from the area for the period of the exercise.

A 34 year old man identified as Iliya Adamu, has committed suicide after he was accused of stealing the sum of N40,000 about 8 months ago. Late Iliya of Kwanan Waya in Yola South Local Government Area, Adamawa State was found hanging from a rope tied to a tree on Thursday, last week. The deceased and a bricklayer who was working in Girei LGA, was accused by his brother of stealing the money in April, 2022. NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the deceased terminated his own life after he kept complaining as well as denying the allegation levelled against him by his own brother. Getting fade up with the wave of reproach and embarassement, the deceased went and ended his own life in a brutal manner in order to rest. APPEAL COURT RESERVES JUDGEMENT IN SUITS BY RIBADU, BINANI, APC

The Yola Division of the Court of Appeal on Monday, reserved judgment in the appeals filed by the Nuhu Ribadu, Aishatu Binani and the All Progressives Congress(APC).  The appeals were instituted by APC Governorship Aspirant, Nuhu Ribadu, winner of Governorship primary, Aishatu Binani and the leadership of the party in the state. After hearing the appeals on Monday, the panel, led by Justice Tani Hassan Yusuf, said they would communicate the date for judgment to the parties. In his appeal, Ribadu, is asking the court to allow his appeal as well as set aside the judgement of the Federal High delivered on the 14th October, 2022. Ribadu, through hisd counsel, M. I. Adamawa State Police Command has warned political thugs to steer clear of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) facilities or face the full wrath of the Command. Already, the Command has deployed its operational asset around the headquaters of the electoral body in the state, and ordered a total clamp down on violators. POLICE ARREST BANK FRAUDSTER WITH 10 ATM CARDS

Police in Adamawa State have arrested a 32 year old man, Joseph Nwakibe, accused of fraudulent activities with 10 different ATM cards. The police command in a release by its image maker, SP Suleiman Yahaya, said that the operatives had apprehended the man while on surveillance on the 8th November, 2022. SP Nguroje, disclosed that Joseph, an indigene of Nnewi South LGA, Anambra and resides in Markudi, Benue state was apprehended at the first bank ATM stand in Yola. According to the command, Joseph was invited to Yola by his friend, Obinna Ajima (now at large) for joint fraudulent activities. SP Nguroje added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects go about with several expired ATM cards of various banks pretending to be customers.
