The embattled Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Adamawa state, Sen. Aishatu Binani, has engaged 12 erudite lawyers for legal battle against court's decision which voided her election.
Sen. Binani, has asked the Court of Appeal sitting in Yola, to declare her as the authentic/lawful candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election.
The Federal High Court presided by A. M. Anka, declared Binani's candidature null and void while delivering judgement in suit filed by the erstwhile Chairman of EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu.
NEWS PLATFORM gathered that Binani in an appeal instituted on Thursday last week, and joined Ribadu, APC and INEC as 1st to 3rd respondents, sought 6 reliefs.
Among the reliefs sought by the female governorship candidate, is an order allowing her appeal as well as setting aside the judgement of the trial court.
The appellant through her counsels, Chief Akim Olujinmi(SAN), Sam T. Olugunorisa(SAN) and 10 others, prayed the appellate court to uphold the declaration of Binani, as the winner of the primary election conducted on the 26th May, 2022.
Equally, she prayed for an order declaring that she (Binani) remains the lawful candidate of APC in the 2023 general election as well as such further orders as the court may deem fit.
