The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa state has urged the Court of Appeal to dismiss the suit instituted by its governorship aspirant, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. NEWS PLATFORM can report.
However, the leadership of the party has asked the court reinstate Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, as its governorship candidate in the 2023 general election.
The party in its appeal instituted on Thursday last week, asked the court to set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court delivered on the 14th October, 2022.
The Federal High Court presided by A.M Anka, voided the election of Binani, who was ealier declared winner of the governorship primary election.
Apparently disastified with the verdict of the trial court, APC through its counsels, Olabisi O. Soyebo, and 9 others approached the appeal court seeking 4 reliefs.
In its appeal before the appeal court, the party has joined Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Aishatu Binani and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents.
It asked the court to set aside the entire decision of the trial court because it has affected the party and its candidate as well as allow its appeal based on all the grounds set herein.
