Adamawa State Commissioner of Police,CP Babatola Afolabi Adeniyi, has presented the sum of N19,732,176.12 cheques to about 20 next of kins to police officers who died or deformed while in active service.
CP Afolabi said that gesture is part of the “Group Life Assurance Scheme” aimed at improving the welfare of the families of the deceased or deformed police officers.
This is contained in a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer,SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, which was made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Tuesday.
SP Nguroje, explained that the Police Boss had presented cheques to cover insurance benefits to the next-of-kins of officers who paid the supreme price as well as those who have suffered permanent deformities while discharging their lawful duties.
He said that the cheques, which were presented to 20 families of deceased officers and those injured or rendered disabled in the line of duty, captured under the Group Life Assurance 2022/2023 Policy Year amounting N19.732 million.
He that the CP had while presenting the cheques to beneficiaries, reiterated that the Police Command will promptly fulfill the obligation of providing IGP's insurance and other benefits to all police personnel.
According to him, the command will fulfill it obligation to officers who had sacrificed for the country by providing comprehensive welfare support aimed at creating an environment where every officer feels protected, valued and motivated to put in their best in service to the nation.
The CP extended IGP's deepest gratitude to the gallant officers of the Command for their commendable dedication, sacrifice, and unalloyed allegiance to upholding the values of justice and security.
