BINANI VS FINTIRI: PDP, INEC SAY NO NEED TO CALL ANY WITNESS



The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) said there is no need to call witnesses, saying that evidence tendered before tribunal are enough. NEWS PLATFORM 


Both INEC and PDP, who are the 1st and the 3rd respondents in a petition filed by APC Governorship Candidate, Aishatu Binani, tendered, adopted and relied on their documents and declined to call any witness.


The respondents told the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa State Capital that they had reviewed their evidence and felt there is no need to call witnesses.


The 2 respondents said that they had tendered several documents before the tribunal, and that the documents are enough to win their cases and subsequently closed their defence.


After the respondents closed their defence, the tribunal adjourned the case to the 12th September, 2023 for adoption of final written addresses.


The APC Governorship Candidate in 2023 general election, Aishatu Binani, dragged INEC, PDP and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, challenging Fintiri's victory
