The TGNews has conferred awards of excellence on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as well as former Governor Muhammad Jibrilla Bindow and several other personalities.
It has also honoured the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Barr. Boss Mustapha and the 1st female Admiral (Barr) Jamila Sadiq Malafa (rtd), Member Song/Fufore Federal constituency, Hon. Wakili Boya.
Others recognised include; the Vice Chancellor Federal University Kashere, Professor Umar Pate, Rev. Dr. Panti Filibus, LCCN. Arch Bishop, Emir of Mubi, HRH. Alh. Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, Gangwari Ganye, HRH Adamu Sanda, Hama Bachama, HRH.Homun Ismaila Daniel Shaga and Kwandi Nunguriya, HRH. Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda.
Other men and women who bagged the award include; TVC News Director, Stella Din- Peters, Mal Hamisu Idris Medugu, Barr. Shafari Shadrach Kanya, Former Adamawa House of Assembly Majority Leader, Hon Hassan Mamman Barguma ,Mal Ardo Usman and Madam Celina Yakubu and several others.
Likewise, the TG News had during the award ceremony held in Yola, Adamawa State Capital on Saturday, unveiled its maiden edition of TG News Magazine for the service of humanity in the society. The magazine will be published monthly.
Earlier, receiving the award, the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, thanked the TG News for recognising the efforts of his administration in delivering good governance to people.
Governor Fintiri, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, promised to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizens and thanked the organisers for the honour done to him and his administration.
He applauded the cordial relationship between the TG News and the present adminstration and appealed to it to sustain it and tasked other recipients of the awards to contribute more for the development of the state.
Delivering his lecture at the event, the Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology Kashere Gombe State, Prof. Umar Pate, said that the technology has brought changes not only in journalism profession but in the lives of human beings.
Prof. Pate commended the TG News for organising the event and urged journalists to embrace the remarkable change brought by technology and furnish the public with factual information.
In his welcome address, the Editor -in-Chief/Publisher TG News, Tom Garba, appreciated the recipients as well as those who took their time and grace the historic award ceremony.
He told the gathering that the award was staged to reward, recognize and celebrate outstanding personalities who have made significant impact in Adamawa State and the nation at large.
