MAN KILLS FRIEND, ROBS HIM OF N20,000, MOTORCYCLE IN ADAMAWA

 



The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 25 years old man, Yahaya Balarabe for allegedly stabbing to death his close friend known as Usman.


A release by the spokesman of the police command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspect murdered the deceased and and robbed him of his motorcycle and the sum of N20,000 on the 17th July, 2024. 


The accused who hails from Dage Village, Ganye Local Government Area, accompanied his victim to his farm under the pretence of assisting him in spraying herbicides.


He said that the suspect brutally attacked and killed the deceased, Usman by stabbing him with a cutlass on the head and threw the corpse in a gutter.


According to him, the suspect was apprehended following the report from the deceased family members upon recovery of material evidence at the scene of the crime which linked him to the crime.


He explained that the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime,  adding that he was only interested in taking possession of the deceased motorcycle and money. 


"The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, expressing concern over the unfortunate incident, and commended operatives of Ganye Divisional police Headquarters for detecting, and making it impossible for the suspect to escape Justice.


"Meanwhile, as part of the  command's effort in tackling criminal activities and other related offences in the state, the CP has directed Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to takeover investigation and ensure law takes its course", he added. 


He called on the citizens to always report people of suspicious character around their neighbourhoods to the police.
