UBA/GAYA, MADAGALI LAWMAKERS DONATE FOOD ITEMS, HERBICIDES TO CONSTITUENTS


 


As part of their commitment towards cushioning the effect of economic hardship being faced by their electorate, the members representing Madagali and Uba/Gaya constituencies respectively at the Adamawa State House of Assembly have donated food items to their constituents.


While Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali) donated maize and rice, Hon. Adum John Alaba (Uba/Gaya) on his part donated herbicides, maize and rice as part of their constituency projects.


The gesture by the lawmakers attracted commendation from cross section of their electorate who appreciated them for reaching out to hundreds of their constituents at the time of need.


The electorate, who spoke separately, said that the food intervention by the lawmkers came at a time many families could not afford to feed themselves due to economic hardship.


Speaking while flagging off the distribution of the items in Madagali and Uba/Gaya constituencies respectively, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, commended the members for gesture.


Rt. Hon. Bathiya disclosed that the food items will go along way in reducing the level of hunger in the society, and thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for approving constituency allowances for the members.





Speaking while distributing the bags of rice and maize to his constituents in Gulak, Madagali LGA, Hon. Jilantikiri, explained that the gesture was to appreciate them for their support which saw to his election for 2nd term.


Hon. Jilantikiri appreciated his constituents for electing him to represent their interest at the hallowed chamber, saying that he had decided to supply food items and distribute it to his electorate considering hunger in the society.


He disclosed that he had supplied 896 bags of rice and maize for distribution to them and promised not to relent in providing good representation.


The Lawmaker informed them that he had set up a committee to distribute the food items and convey same to some of the beneficiaries that are far from the constituency headquarters.


He applauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for approving constituency allowances for them to carry out constituency projects to their electorate and urged the beneficies not to sell the items.





Likewise, speaking while flagging off the distribution of rice, maize and herbicides at Mararaba Mubi in his constituency, Hon. Adum John Alaba, said that the gesture is to appreciate their support to him.


Hon. Alaba, thanked his teeming electorate for electing him to represent them and promised to continue to provide more dividends of democracy as the gesture was just the beginning.


He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support to the members and pledged his support and that of his constituency to the "Fresh Air" administration.


Baring his mind, the Director General (DG), Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) who was represented by the Director Monitoring and Evaluation, Sani Abdulkadir, hailed the gesture as well as the legislators support to Fintiri led administration.


In their separate welcome address, the Chairmen of Madagali LGC, Hon. Simon Shashi, and that Hon. Usman Inuwa Wa'aganda, commended the members for providing good representation to his constituents.


In their goodwill messages, the Chairmen, Yourh Leaders and other representatives of the PDP, traditional rulers and other Stakeholders hailed the lawmkers for the gesture and pleaded with the beneficiaries not to sell the food items
