SEN IYA ABBAS TASKS NEW LGCs BOSSES ON PEOPLE ORIENTED PROJECTS



The Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, has tasked the newly inaugurated Chairmen of the 21 LGCs to embark on the execution of people oriented projects.


Senator Iya Abbas, in a statement through his media office in Yola, Adamawa state, extended hearty congratulations to them and wished them a successful tenure of office.


He charged them to formulate policies that would impact positively on the socio-economic well-being of the electorate.


He stressed the need for the newly elected chairmen to embrace inclusive governance by working as one family in order to meet the yearnings of those who voted for them. 


While commending Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing dividends of democracy to the people of the state, he further urged the chairmen to emulate the Governor for the development of all. 


The senator who served as speaker of the 7th Adamawa Assembly from (2019-2023) called on them to carry their vice chairmen, legislative councl and supervisory councillors and the legislative arm in decision-making process for the overall development of your LGAs.


He congratulated the PDP for the victory at the poll on Saturday, Senator Abbas said that the landslide victory of the party had demonstrated again, the supremacy of PDP in Adamawa, and pointed out that it was also, an overwhelming vote of confidence Fintiri's administration.


He added that people of the state have noticed that their interests are best served with the present administration and the PDP, he therefore commend them for their turnout and peaceful conduct at the polls, which was conducted in a free, fair and credible atmosphere.


He also commended the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) for standing firm and putting all the necessary arrangement and processes in place for a hitch-free election.
