As part of commitment towards cushioning the effect of economic hardship being faced by his electorate, the member representing Uba/Gaya constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Eng. Adum John Alaba, has distributed food items as well herbicides to his constituents.
Hon. Alaba of Uba/Gaya distributed maize, rice and cartons of herbicides as part of his 2024 constituency project.
The gesture by the lawmaker attracted commendation from his electorate across 6 political wards who appreciated his effort in reaching out to his constituents at the time of need.
The electorate said that the food intervention by the lawmaker came at a time many families could not afford to feed themselves due to economic hardship.
Speaking while flagging off the distribution of the items in Uba/Gaya constituency, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, commended the member for gesture.
Rt. Hon. Bathiya disclosed that the food items will go along way in reducing the level of hunger in the society, and thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for approving constituency allowances for the members.
In his remarks, the member representing Uba/Gaya constituency, Hon. Eng. Alaba, explained that the gesture was to appreciate them for their support to him during and even after the election.
Hon. Alaba, thanked his teeming electorate for the mandate to represent them and promised to continue to provide more dividends of democracy as the distribution was just the beginning.
He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support to the members and pledged his support and that of his constituency to the "Fresh Air" administration.
Baring his mind, the Director General (DG), Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) who was represented by the Director Monitoring and Evaluation, Sani Abdulkadir, hailed the gesture as well as the legislators support to Fintiri led administration
In his welcome address, the Chairman of PDP Hong LGA, Ibrahim Ndotti, commended the member for providing good representation to his constituents.
In their goodwill message, some Uba/Gaya Stakeholders hailed the lawmker for the gesture and pleaded with the beneficiaries not to sell the food items.
