JUBILATION AS MICHIKA LAWMAKER DISTRIBUTES 2,233 BAGS OF GRAINS TO CONSTITUENTS



There was jubilation in Michika on Friday, as the member representing the constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, distributed 2,233 bags of maize and rice to his electorate.


The bags of grains were distributed to more especially the aged by the lawmker as part of his effort to mitigate the current excruciating economic hardship in the society.


Aside the distribution of the food items to the old people, the member has also embarked on the sinking of boreholes across the 16 wards which comprise Michika constituency to provide portable water supply to his electorate.

Speaking while flagging off the distribution of the food items at the Civic Centre in Michika LGA, on Friday, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, commended the legislator for reaching out to old people with the laudable gesture.


Rt. Hon. Bathiya, described the contribution of their colleague in providing food support to his constituency as commendable, and advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the food items donated to them.


He appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for approving constituency allowances to all the members, and pledged the readiness of the assembly to continue to support his administration to enable him provide more dividends of democracy to their electorate.



In his remarks, the member representing Michika constituency, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, thanked his constituents for electing him to represent them, and appealed to them to exercise patience with what he had been able to provide at the moment.


He promised to continue in empowering his electorate and further pleaded with those who could not benefit from the gesture to exercise patience and wait for another time.


He used the opportunity and thanked Governor Fintiri for his administration's support to the members and for identifying with his constituency whenever the need arises.



Also speaking, the Director General (DG), Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) who was represented by Sani Abdulkadir, urged the electorate to thank the Governor for approving allowances to members and commended the lawmker for his choice to provide food items to his people.


Appreciating the gesture of the member, the Chairman Michika LGC, Dan Biyu Bitrus Tumba, commended the member for putting smiles in the faces of their electorate, and described him as a grassroots politician.


He also appreciated Michika electorate for adopting PDP as their sole party and commended the Governor for providing constituency allowances to the members.


In their separate goodwill messages, the Chairmen of PDP Michika and that of distribution committee, Hon. Emmanuel Fungus and Bitrus Small applauded the gesture, saying Michika electorate did not make mistake in voting for Hon. Moses Yerima Zah as their representative.
