The Chairman Hong Local Government Council, Hon. Usman Inuwa Wa'aganda, has commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for re-introducing monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the state. News Platform
Hon. Wa'aganda, who made the commendation in Hong LGA on Saturday, while fielding questions from newsmen, applauded the Governor for bringing the policy.
He said that the significance of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise cannot be over emphasized, saying that his council has taken the policy very seriously in order to keep the environment clean.
He said that he had summoned meeting with all the security agencies, the traditional rulers and religious leaders and introduced the issue of sanitation exercise as reintroduced by the Governor.
He said had resolved during the meeting to take the issue of sanitation exercise very seriously, and that he also directed the security agencies to block major highways during the exercise.
He promised to hold security meeting every month to enable his council sustain the exercise and security agencies and traditional rulers to enforce the law.
He called on the citizens to support the policy for its benefits, saying that keeping clean environment will prevent outbreak of diseases such as cholera.
He added that Adamawa State citizens will be the first beneficiaries of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, and called on all and sundry to support the sanitation as the policy has come to stay.
