Adamawa State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Petitions, Public Service and Electoral Matters has launched an investigation into the alleged confiscation of piece of land by royal father in Mubi North LGA. News Platform
The committee which is headed by the Member representing Shelleng constituency, Hon. Bulus Kantomon Naphtali, was mandated to investigate the petition which was presented at the plenary session on Tuesday.
The document was earlier presented at the plenary by Hon. Kantomon Naphtali, which was read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, while presiding over the sitting.
After reading the petition, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, directed the committee to investigate the allegations and report back to the assembly in 3 weeks time.
The petition was filed by some members of Palala Dazala community, Yelwa ward in Mubi North LGA, who accused the Village Head of Njairi Belel, of confiscating their plot of lands of several people in the community.
The petition was signed by Abdullahi Abubakar, Kawu Sale and Ibrahim Joji, on behalf of several members of the community.
They alleged that the traditional ruler and his sons and team of vigilantes had threatened their lives over piece of land situated at Palala Dazala in Yelwa ward, and pleaded with the assembly to investigate the matter.
