ADHA APC Lawmakers, Stakeholders Vow to Takeover Adamawa in 2027
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lawmakers of the 8th Adamawa State House of Assembly have organised a one day Grassroots Stakeholders Engagement/Sensitisation meeting. News Platform
The meeting, which was first of its kind, provided opportunity for the lawmakers who intefaced with the grassroots stakeholders and encouraged them to strive towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
Cross section of the legislators as well as some stakeholders who graced the meeting commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing the son of the soil, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser.
Equally, they applauded the policies and programmes of President Tinubu and appealed to the members of the party to remain in the party and continue in supporting the NSA and President Tinubu led government.
Likewise, the gathering used the opportunity and applauded the National Security Adviser for making the party and Adamawa state proud in carrying out his constitutional responsibilities and pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support to him and President Tinubu.
On the 2027 general election, the stakeholders promised to work hard towards winning the election, and urged the party faithful to remain united and put the interest of the party above their personal interests.
The APC members who organised the event include Hon. Suleiman Alkali (Yola North), Minority Leader ADHA, Hon. Sunday Peter (Guyuk), Rt. Hon. Kabiru Mijinyawa (Yola South), Hon. Yohanna Sahabo Jauro (Mubi South), Hon. Mohammed Babangida Njidda(Nasarawo Binyeri), Hon. Rufai Umar (Gombi), Hon. Paul Samuel (Mubi North), Hon. Misa Musa(Ganye), Hon. Ismail Bobbo Umar (Fufore/Gurin).
The event attracted the Exco of APC in the state, LG and ward level, some members of Taraba and Bauchi House of Assemblies,former state and national lawmakers as well as critical stakeholders of the party.
Speaking at the event held at Muna hotel on Monday, the National Vice Chairman of APC Northeast Zone, Comrade Salihu Mustapha PhD, tasked APC members to remain united and work towards success of the party.
Comrade Mustapha urged the stakeholders to organise such stakeholders engagement at the local government level with a view to strengthening the party.
He advised them not to allow anybody to deceive them to join any political party, saying that there is nothing like new movement (Sabon Tafiya) in Adamawa state.
He used the opportunity and appealed for support to President Tinubu led administration in order tackle insecurity, saying security is everybody's business and all hands must be deck to combat it.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the event who is the former Member Gombi/Hong House of representatives, Hon. Capt. Yusuf Buba, commended President Bola Tinubu, for his achievements in critical sectors and hailed the appointment of Ribadu as NSA.
Also speaking, former Ambassador to Czech Republic, Hon. Kevin Peter (Northern Zone) pointed out that the party is a strong opposition in Adamawa state looking at its projects and activities in the state, saying "I am confident that APC is going to take over Adamawa in 2027".
Hon. Kevin Peter said, "This gathering is very important as far as grassroots politics is concerned. I commend the APC members of the assembly for bringing the grassroots politicians to discuss with them, sensitise them on the importance of unity, cooperation and being supportive to the leadership of the party".
In their goodwill messages, the Federal Commissioner, Hajiya Salamatu Bala and former Deputy Speaker ADHA, Hon. Lumsambani Dili (Southern Zone), Hon. Sahabo Gurin Central Zone among others described the event as timely.
According to them, the Members of the assembly are directing their attention on how they will organise themselves as APC members in order for them to go and canvass for votes in the forth coming elections, and pledged their support to Hon. Idris Shuaibu led exco in the state, NSA and President Tinubu.
Highlighting the importance of the event, the Minority Leader ADHA, Hon. Suleiman Alkali (Yola North), said that the lawmakers have called for the meeting to discuss with stakeholders with a view to supporting President Tinubu's administration.
Hon. Alkali applauded the NSA for his effort towards ensuring peace across the land, and enumerated some of the NSA's achievements, saying that the Mallam Ribadu had approved for sinking of motorise boreholes across all the political wards.
Baring his mind, the member representing Mubi South Constituency, Hon. Sahabo Yohanna Jauro, called for unity among party members in order to take over Dougurei Government House and all elective posts in the state.
On his part, the member representing Nasarawo Binyeri ADHA, Hon. Mohammed Babangida Njidda, stated that the effort of the legislators is to bring everyone on board so that they can be on the same page.
Hon. Babangida disclosed that the gathering was aimed at telling the world what the NSA is doing as well as thank President Tinunbu for appointing him.
Presenting the resolution/communique of the Nine APC Lawmakers, Hon. Sunday Peter of Guyuk Constituency, said that the members believed that the meeting will enable them strengthen the party, and described APC as a grassroots political party since its creation.
Hon. Sunday Peter conveyed the Lawmakers gratitude to the President for appointing Ribadu as NSA, whom he described as a seasoned personality, man of integrity, foresight, dedication and good track record in fighting corruption.
He disclosed that the NSA had demonstrated competence and strategic leadership in addressing Nigeria's complex security challenges, saying, "We are indeed grateful for having you as Leader of APC, symbol of hope, peace and unity in Adamawa state and Nigeria at large.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the member representing Fufore/Gurin, Hon. Ismail Bobbo Umar, thanked the participants for their time to attend the one day event.
Hon. Umar pointed out that the meeting was aimed supporting the programme and policies of President Bola Ahmed led administration in the country, adding that it was also to register their support and cooperation to the NSA.
