Ganye Bye-election: LP Candidate to Withdraw Petition Against Hon. Misa Musa
The Candidate of the Labour Party at the just concluded bye-election for Ganye Constituency Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Benjamin Brandford, has filed an application seeking to withdraw his petition against Hon. Misa Musa, representing Ganye at the assembly.
Hon. Brandford is seeking to withdraw his petition which he had earlier filed before the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa state, challenging the election of Hon. Misa Musa of the APC.
In his petition, Hon. Brandford and his party alleged that the election of Hon. Misa was invalid across the constituency for non compliance with the Electoral Act, Manuals for Election Officials and Regulations and Guidelines for the conduct of the elections.
Hon. Brandford who scored 68 votes only and his party had joined Hon. Misa Musa, APC, Hon. Buba Mohammed Joda, PDP and INEC as 1st to 5th respondents in the petition marked: EPT/AD/SHA/01/25.
At the pre-hearing of the Tribunal on Friday, neither the petitioner nor his counsel appeared before the tribunal presided by Justice A. O. Ebong.
During the pre-hearing, Dr. Dayo Ashonibare Esq, Abubakar Ali Esq, Chief L. D. Nzadon Esq, A. T. Shehu Esq and Iyono Paul Esq appeared for 1st to 5th respondents respectively.
The tribunal adjourned hearing in the application to 30th October, 2025.
