MICHIKA CONCERNED CITIZENS BLAST BONI HARUNA FOR DISRESPECTING PARAMOUNT RULER

The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM. Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga.

The leadership of the concerned citizens took a swipe at the erstwhile Governor for disrespecting the Royal Father, Michika Chiefdom and the entire good people of Michika.

According to them, the conduct of the former Governor of Adamawa state who hails from Michika Chiefdom has left many deeply disappointed, saying his failure to liberate his people from oppression when he had the chance remains a painful reminder of what happens when leadership lacks vision and resolve.

The Concerned Citizens observed that leadership is not merely about titles, positions, education or riches, but it is about responsibility, sacrifice, and the courage to act when people are in need.

"During Boni Haruna's reign, Michika Chiefdom was neglected under the hands of external oppressors. Hopes were high that he would rise to the occasion, rally his people, and lead them to freedom by creating the chiefdom. Instead, fear, complacency, and personal interests overshadowed his reign as the Governor of Adamawa state for 8 years. The people suffered in silence while their so-called leader looked away.

"When history presented a second chance through Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umar Fintri who is a courageous leader, the story changed. Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintri, full of wisdom, humility, and determination, confronted the challenges head-on, united the people and reclaimed their dignity, and restored peace and confidence where there was once despair. Under his leadership, the chiefdom experienced true liberation and progress.

"Yet, in an unfortunate twist of irony, the former Governor, the very man who woefully failed his people chose to show open disrespect towards the new Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom. Chronology of the former Governor Boni Haruna desposition toward the Chiefdom has indicated his disdain for the liberation and development of the chiefdom. 

The Concerned Citizens lamented that desipte his nomination to participate in the struggle for the creation of the chiefdom, Boni Haruna, declined for no obvious reason rather than the shame of failure. 

According to them, like other chiefdoms and emirates, while all prominent sons and daughters where preparing the installation of their respective kings, the former Governor had refused to participate or even congratulate the new King. 

"Instead of humility and admission of his failure to his people, he chose to display arrogance and bitterness forgetting that the mantle of leadership given to the first Paramount Ruler of Michika  people is a sacred trust, not a personal possession.

"Just a few days, an opportunity presented itself where for the first time the former Governor met the new Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, at the funeral service of late Yakubu Tsala since installation. 

Instead of being remorsefull and tender apology, the former Governor refused to recoginise even the presence of His Royal Majesty in his speech. Such behavior is not only unbecoming of a former leader but also a betrayal of the very community he once vowed to serve", it bemoaned.

They pointed out that true leaders celebrate the progress of their people and community  even when there is no pride to take home from it, saying that such leaders mentor, support and live by examples to younger generation at all times. 

"Is this what former Governor Boni Haruna have in stock for the next generations? History will always favor those who uplift others and condemn those who allow ego to destroy unity and progress of his community.

"Our community deserves better leaders who understand that respect, cooperation, and humility are the true marks of greatness. The time has come for the former Governor to reflect and swallow his pride and ego that he drives from a historical failure. The people have moved forward with their destiny which he can not stop", the Concerned Citizens concluded.
