Adamawa Police, Centre Collaborate to Curb Illicit Arms Flow
Poised to tackle the threat and circulation of illegal arms in Adamawa State, the Police Command has pledged to collaborate with the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) in the fight against the proliferation of illicit arms and light weapons.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, made this known during a courtesy visit to the Command by the Coordinator NCCSALW North-East Zone, Major General Abubakar Adamu (Rtd).
Receiving the delegation, the Police Boss reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to work closely with the centre to rid the State of illegal firearms and ensure public safety.
In his remarks, the Zonal Coordinator sought the continued support and cooperation of the command to mop up illegal weapons from circulation through collection and destruction.
