The Adamawa State Government has debunked a misleading information circulating in some quarters about school closure. This is contained in a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou. Fintiri described the information that the government had ordered schools to shutdown as false, baseless and unfounded. “At no point did the Government direct schools to close, and we have no intention to do so. This malicious rumor is the work of mischief makers who are bent on tarnishing the image of the Government and disrupting the public peace.” it explained. A Butcher identified as Umaru Usman of Shelleng LGA Adamawa state, who was convicted and sentenced to 17 years in imprisonment has been discharged. News Platform  Usman was incarcerated for 17 years over N150,000 debt by the Shelleng Area Court presided by Hon. Musa Fari. In case number CR/99/025, the court sent the convict to Numan Correctional Centre  for the offence of criminal breach of trust and cheating where he was serving his jail term with custody number E.1090/035. The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has received 21 operational vehicles donated by Governor Ahmadu Umaru of Adamawa state. The vehicles, Innoson IVM G6C/GRANITE Series, consist of double-cabin pickup Hilux fitted with security gadgets. The effort of Governor Fintiri is aimed at supporting the ongoing efforts at repositioning the crime-fighting strategy for optimum performance in the state. A 24 years old man identified as Usama Abdullahi, has been sentenced to community service in Shelleng LGA, Adamawa State for theft. News Platform  Usama, who works at a car wash in Shelleng, was sentenced to community service following the review of his 2 years jail term slammed to him by the court in the LGA. The Chief Judge Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman on Wednesday, stormed Numan Federation and discharged a total of 69 inmates. Equally, Justice Hafsat, reviewed the sentences of 34 inmates, convicted 8 and granted bail to 2 others. While at Shelleng Satellite Custodial Facility, Justice Hafsat led Jail Delivery Committee, freed 6 inmates and reviewed the sentences of 15 others.   A 31 years old Iliya Abdullahi of Shelleng LGA Adamawa state has been sentenced to 1 year imprisonment for theft. News Platform  Iliya was earlier convicted and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by the Shelleng Area Court 2 for the offence contrary to section 277 of the penal code law. He was sent to prison on the 15th November, 2025 after he was convicted for carting away 1 measure of beans. The convict had his sentence reviewed when he appeared before Adamawa Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Chief Judge, Adamawa State, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman. Justice Hafsat reviewed the sentence of the convict from 2 years to 1 year when her committee stormed Shelleng Satellite Custodial Centre on Wednesday. She advised him to be of good of behaviour and contribute positively towards the development of the society.

  Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee has so far discharged a total of 140 inmates from 3 Custodial Centres. The committee has also convicted 90, granted bail to 72 and reviewed the sentences of 26 from Jimeta, Yolde Pate, and Yola Old custodial centres currently housing over 1,000 inmates. A young man identified as Mujahid Mohammed of Gurin community in Fufore LGA, Adamawa state has confessed stealing mobile phone of his friend and sold it N2,000. Mujahid made the confession when he appeared before Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman. The suspect was remanded at the Jimeta Custodial Centre in Yola, Adamawa State on the 10th October, 2025, by the Modire Area Court for the offence of theft. The accused made away with the GSM mobile phone of his friend valued N15,000 and sold it N2,000 only. He confessed committing the crime and pleaded for mercy, assuring that he will never commit crime again. The committee convicted and sentenced him to community service for 3 months.

A woman known as Zhihwi Mercy Tizhe in Adamawa State has sought for an enforcement of judgement delivered by the Upper Area Court I on the custody of her children. Mrs. Zhihwi who works with the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigerian Education (PLANE) funded by the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office, decried delay in the enforcement of the judgement which granted her custody of her daughters. A 48 years old man identified as Mathias Yusuf, on Thursday, bagged 3 months jail term as well as community service for the offence of theft. Mathias was jailed 3 months by the Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, during jail delivery. He was earlier remanded at the Jimeta Custodial Centre by the Chief Magistrate Court II on the 19th August, 2025, for offence of theft contrary to section 278 of the penal code law. The convict told the committee that he had stole 6 bottles of liquor as well as cigarette at a beer parlour in Jambutu, Yola North LGA. He drank the liquor and got drunk as a result of which he was apprehended. He was jailed 3 months from the time of the remand and ordered to sweep health facility at Jambutu.

The Adamawa Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, on Wednesday, discharged no fewer than 55 Inmates and admitted about 40 others to bail.
