Adamawa CJ Frees 55 Inmates, Admits 40 others to Bail



The Adamawa Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, on Wednesday, discharged no fewer than 55 Inmates and admitted about 40 others to bail.


Equally, Justice Hafsat led Jail Delivery Committee convicted 32 and reviewed the sentences of 13, bringing a total of 140 beneficiaries out of 420 inmates at the Yolde Pate Correctional Centre.


The CJ discharged well as granted bail to the beneficiaries when her jail delivery committee stormed the correctional facility for the purpose of decongesting it.


Addressing press shortly after the exercise, Justice Hafsat said that the committee discharged, granted bail and reviewed sentences of the inmates at the conclusion of the 2-day exercise at the correctional centre


She advised the beneficiaries to engage in a fruitful ventures for their benefit and that of their families and warned them not to commit crime again as the committee will not temper justice with mercy to them anymore.


In his remarks, the Controller of the Correctional Service, Odunlami Abduljaleel, appreciated the CJ and her committee for the effort to decongest the centres.
