Man Jailed 3 Months for Stealing Liquor, Cigarette in Adamawa



A 48 years old man identified as Mathias Yusuf, on Thursday, bagged 3 months jail term as well as community service for the offence of theft.


Mathias was jailed 3 months by the Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, during jail delivery.


He was earlier remanded at the Jimeta Custodial Centre by the Chief Magistrate Court II on the 19th August, 2025, for offence of theft contrary to section 278 of the penal code law.


The convict told the committee that he had stole 6 bottles of liquor as well as cigarette at a beer parlour in Jambutu, Yola North LGA.


He drank the liquor and got drunk as a result of which he was apprehended.


He was jailed 3 months from the time of the remand and ordered to sweep health facility at Jambutu.
