Man Jailed 1 Year for Stealing 1 Measure of Beans in Adamawa

 


A 31 years old Iliya Abdullahi of Shelleng LGA Adamawa state has been sentenced to 1 year imprisonment for theft. News Platform 


Iliya was earlier convicted and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by the Shelleng Area Court 2 for the offence contrary to section 277 of the penal code law.


He was sent to prison on the 15th November, 2025 after he was convicted for carting away 1 measure of beans.


The convict had his sentence reviewed when he appeared before Adamawa Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Chief Judge, Adamawa State, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman.


Justice Hafsat reviewed the sentence of the convict from 2 years to 1 year when her committee stormed Shelleng Satellite Custodial Centre on Wednesday.


She advised him to be of good of behaviour and contribute positively towards the development of the society.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences.
