Lamurde Lawmaker Accounts for N100million Constituency Allowance



The member representing Lamurde Constituency at the Adamawa State, Hon. Bauna Myandasa, on Friday, demostrated accountability as well as transparency by giving records of account of the sum of N100million constituency allowance. News Platform 


Out of N100million constituency allowance, according to him, N40million was earmarked for the construction of 3 classrooms at Opalo, N22.8million for procurement of 600 bags of fertilizer and N3.8million for herbicides for distribution to dry season farmers.


He said that he had decided to expend N11million for the procurement of 100 water pumps, N3million for 10,000 exercise books, N2.746 charges and N1million for company charges.


Hon. Bauna gave the account during townhall meeting with he convened and held at GDSS Lamurde, in Lamurde LGA on Friday.


The townhall meeting gathered the PDP exco at the LG and Wards level, leadership of opposition political party, traditional rulers, religious leaders, representatives of youths and women groups among others.


Speaking at the event, the Lawmaker stated that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had given them N100million each as constituency allowance, explaining that the money is not given to them cash.


He told them that he convened the stakeholders meeting to come and give account of his stewardship at the assembly, saying that Governor had given them N100million each as 2025 constituency allowance.


He revealed that the money is mot cash but he is the one to lead in spending the money for the benefit of his people, saying that he had sworn that he is not going to take a dime out the N100million for his personal use.


He said that what he gets from the assembly is enough for him and does not need to take anything from what is meant for his constituents, and reiterated that the money does not belong to him and he does not need it.


He pointed out that he had called them to bear witness on the record and how the money will be expended for the benefit of their electorate and for them to ask questions.


He said that all the items that will be procured will be distributed to the beneficiaries as soon as possible and urged them to use it judiciously for the purpose intended.


He used the opportunity and thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for approving constituency allowance to them, and also appreciated him for the construction of examination hall at GDSS Lamurde which he had lobbied for.



According to him, his constituents had been yearning for the examination hall since 1979 until at the time of Governor Fintiri, saying that the hall was constructed up to the standard and now being used by the students.


Also speaking, the Chairman Lamurde LGC, Hon. Bulus Daniel, described the legislator as a credible representative, saying that that is what is takes to have a credible leader.


He described legislators as wheel that willl convey message, saying that is what has played out at the event, saying that the legislator has conveyed the message to them as expected of him.


Baring their minds, the Chairmen of PDP and ADC Lamurde LGAs respectively, Hon. Esthon Kwape and Hon. Amos Daniel said that the lawmaker has demonstrated that he is leader to be trusted.


In his goodwill message, the District Head of Rigange, Kpana Rigange, HRH, Linus Ishaya, said that they are proud of the stewardship of the lawmaker.


The royal father used the opportunity and hammered on the importance of peace and unity, saying that without which no meaningful progress will be recorded.


On his part, the District Head of Gyawana, HRH, Dr. Agoso Bamaiyi, disclosed that the constituency allowance was channeled mostly in agriculture and education sectors.


Dr. Agoso, observed that there will be no future without education, and commended Hon. Bauna for supporting the critical sectors in the society.


Also speaking, the District Head of Lafiya, HRH, Minakaron Clement commended the member for being transparent and accountable to his people.


He appealed to the member, Lamurde LGC Chairmen as well as other political office holders to support traditional institutions.


Several stakeholders who spoke at the event applauded the Lawmaker for giving them records of the money, and pledged their support and cooperation him.
