Ex-ACP Sheriff Welcomes President Tinubu to Adamawa

 



Former Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Sheriff Abubakar Rabiu (Rtd) has extended has welcomed President Bola Tinubu to Adamawa State.


President Tinubu is expected in Yola, Adamawa State Capital on Monday, for one day working visit where he is expected to commission some capital projects executed by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.


ACP Sheriff, who is also the former Chief Security Officer to former Governor Murtala Nyako, expressed joy for the President's visit, saying that Adamawa is a home to Mr. President.


He described President Tinubu as credible, detribalised leader whom the country needed and expressed confidence that he is working hard to fix both economic and security challenges confronting the country.


He explained that though he is not a politician, and that his decision to personally welcome Mr. President is in recognition of his love to humanity and commitment to peace, unity and progress of the country.


He recalled with nostalgia the favour of Mr President to him when he was serving as Head of Department Communications Lagos State Police Command between 2003 and 2007.


He stated that during a monthly security meeting in the then Governor Tinubu's Office in Alausa, the Governor saw him as the youngest Head of Department and demanded to know his name.


According to him, after telling Tinubu his name, LGA and State where he came from he instantly directed Major Phanox to give the department 2 drums of diesel and 2 drums of petrol every month and also N250,000 monthly as welfare even when ACP Sheriff's salary was less than N13,000.


He promised to support him to enable him succeed considering his track record in Lagos State and currently as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences.
