Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Monday, met with the appointed rayal fathers of newly created Chiefdoms and Emirates, announcing dates for their coronation.
Fintiri met with traditional rulers at the Government House in Yola, which marked the 1st official interaction with the Governor and the royal fathers.
During the meeting, the Governor announced the dates for coronation of the new monarchs as follows: Fufore: 5th February 2025, Yungur: 6th February, 2025, Gombi: 8th February 2025, Maiha: 13th February 2025 ,Hong: 14th February 2025, Madagali: 19th February 2025 and Michika: 20th February 2025.
He tasked them to thoroughly study their territories and traditional systems to enhance their understanding and leadership capabilities.
He further cautioned them against hasty appointments of titleholders, urging them to adhere to established guidelines and thorough security checks to avoid empowering individuals of questionable character.
He admonished them to work closely with district and village heads, towards ensuring that transparency and accountability remain at the core of their leadership.
He appealed to them to promptly report suspicious activities or shady characters to appropriate authorities for necessary action.
Responding on behalf of the monarchs, the Ptil of Madagali, HRH Dr. Ali Danburam, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for his vision and courage in creating the new Emirates and Chiefdoms.
Ptil of Madagali, pledged that the traditional rulers would lead with honesty, dedication, transparency, and fairness, supporting the government in its quest to deliver good governance and serve the people.
