Police Kill Kidnapper, Recover AK-47 Rifle in Adamawa



Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command in joint operation with local security outfits have gunned down a suspected kidnapper during gun battle.


The operatives have also recovered AK-47 rifle with five rounds of live ammunitions.


A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspect was neutralised during gun duel.


SP Nguroje said that the command took a bold step by coordinating the raid on one of the kidnappers hideout identified along Ngurore, Yola South LGA.


"The Criminals who were armed with offensive weapons, upon sighting our gallant men attempted to resist arrest thereby opening fire to scare our men, but when the fire shots were returned, one of them was down while others escaped.


The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, commended the bold step taken by the officers and men of the command and their Stakeholders. He explained.
