The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 2 persons for allegedly raping 2 minors at Sangere Futy in Girei LGA.
Those arrested include Bala Muhammed, 35 years old and Usman Abdullahi, 17 years old who also reside at Sangere Futy.
Confirming the arrest, the Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspects had raped 11 and 14 years old girls respectively.
According to him, on the 22nd January, 2025, the police command received complaints on the alleged crime perpetrated by the suspects.
He said that after receiving the complaints, the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, deployed personnel of the command who succeeded in arresting the accused.
During interrogation with the PPRO, one of the suspect, Bala Muhammed confessed to the crime, saying it was a mistake.
On his part, Usman Abdullahi, 17 years old who also admitted having raped the little girl, however blamed the devil for his act.
The PPRO said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, had assured that the suspects will be prosecuted upon completion of investigation.
