The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a suspected "Shila" boy, Usman Abubakar, for alleged robbery and causing grievous hurt.
The accused, Usman Abubakar of Shuware Ward in Mubi North LGA, allegedly perpetrated the crime in Mubi North LGA.
The operatives of the command recovered tricycle, infinix mobile phone, scissors among other items from the suspect.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged on 23nd February, 2025 from one Hadiza Atiku of Wuro Harde Ward, Mubi North LGA.
SP Nguroje said that the suspect physically assaulted the complainant and forcefully robbed her of her Infinix WOD Nine handset while armed with scissors.
He further explained that the suspect stabbed his victim in the face thereby causing grievious hurt, saying that after receiving the report, the operatives of the command attached to Mubi North Divisional Police headquarters, swiftly moved into action, leading to his arrest and recovery of the items.
He said that the suspect is currently in police custody aiding investigation and that he will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
