Adamawa State Police Command has beefed up security in Fufore LGA ahead of the coronation of the new Emir of Fufore, HRH. Alh. Sani Ribadu, on Wednesday.
A statement by the command's Spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, had deployed operational asset to ensure water tight security before, during and after the event.
He said that command in collaboration with sister security agencies have placed adequate security arrangements in order to ensure peaceful coronation.
He explained that the CP had directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police Department of Operations and Supervising Area Commander Karewa to coordinate security deployment at all key locations where dignitaries and VIPs will be hosted.
According to him, as part of the security measures, the command has deployed armed police personnel to critical locations including Yola international airport, and strategically positioned traffic control officers to ensure smooth vehicular movement and prevent congestion in and around the Emir's palace and all the junctions within metro down to Fufore local government area..
He said that the Anti Bomb Squad has been deployed to scan and secure the place of event to forestall any security threats, saying that the tactical teams and patrol units have been stationed along major highways to prevent disruption and ensure the safety of the public.
