ADHA Lawmaker Empowers Constituents with Cars, Motorcycles, others
The Member representing Leko Koma Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Bulus Geoffrey, on Sunday, distributed assorted empowerment items to his constituents.
Some of the empowerment items distributed include cars, 5, motorcycles,18, grinding machines, 15, milling machines,15, clippers,15, gasoline generators,15, roofing sheets, 18, sewing machines, 15, vulcanising machines, 15 and wheelchairs, 5.
The items were distributed to women, youth, religious bodies, stakeholders and People Living with Disabilities across Yeli, Kojoli, Koma I, Koma II and Mapeo political wards in Jada LGA.
The gesture was aimed at reducing unemployment rate, improving literacy, and ensuring that the constituency remains a shining example of grassroots development
Aside the 4th phase of empowerment, the lawmaker constructed and renovated blacks of classrooms, examination hall, health centres, distributed POS machines, seed of capital, herbicides as well as cash support to his electorate.
Speaking at the empowerment programme at Kojoli, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, said that good governance is about providing developmental projects to the citizens.
Rt. Hon. Bathiya disclosed that the he had witnessed the commissioning ceremony of some of the constituency projects executed by the member, and applauded the support of Leko Koma electorate to the member.
He told the constituents that they have elected a credible leader and urged them to rally round him and vote for him for the second term to enable him provide more dividends of democracy to them.
According to him, the assembly Lawmakers are united to bring development not only to their constituents but the state, saying that their function as lawmakers is to enact laws for good governance.
He said that the assembly under his leadership has been supporting Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to enable his administration continue to provide dividends of democracy to the citizens.
In his speech, Hon. Bulus Geoffrey of Leko Koma Constituency, said that they are gathered to launch the 4th phase of "Renewed Hope" empowerment initiative, saying that the journey which began in 2023, has since evolved into a testament to shared commitment and progress.
Hon. Bulus, said that on his assumption of office he had made a solemn pledge that the voice of Leko Koma would not only be heard but would be felt in every household.
"Today, it is not just about distributing items; it is about accountability. It is about looking back at where we started and reinforcing the foundation of prosperity we are building together across our 5 political wards.
"Our journey of impactful representation took a significant leap in April 2025. During that first major intervention, we prioritised the fundamental pillars of any developing society: education and water.
"We successfully commissioned two primary schools to provide our children with a conducive learning environment. Recognising that "water is life," I embarked on the drilling of over 20 hand-pump boreholes; 10 are currently fully functional, while others are at various stages of completion.
"By July 2025, we shifted our focus toward health and productivity. It was a proud moment as we commissioned the newly built clinic at Komni Koma 2 Ward and renovated clinic at Jalingo Latere Mapeo Ward, bringing healthcare closer to the doorsteps of our rural dwellers.
"In the same month, we boosted our local economy by distributing herbicides to our hardworking farmers, ensuring a bountiful harvest", he explained.
According him, education remains a top priority, saying that he had commissioned a newly constructed examination hall at So'o Leko Ward, adding that providing infrastructure for the students is the best way to secure the future.
The legislator stated that over 200 beneficiaries from all five wards received financial support to boost small scale businesses and meet family needs, pointing out that the gesture was to provide immediate relief and stimulate the local economy,
He urged them to use these resources judiciously be it tools, capital, or infrastructure, and appealed to them to remember that the items are seeds meant to be planted, not consumed.
Hon. Bulus appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and Speaker of the Assembly, for their leadership and for providing the enabling environment that allows them to deliver to organise the empowerment programme.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, the former Chief Judge Adamawa state, Justice Ambrose Mammadi, commended Hon. Geoffrey Bulus for remembering and giving back to his constituency.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman Jada LGC, Hon. Salihu Muhammed So'o, said that the Lawmaker was able to construct blocks of schools and health centres and other empowerment programmes.
In his goodwill message, the District Head of Kojoli and Dan Galadima Ganye, Alh. Kabiru Hayatu Kojoli, said a good leader is the one who remembers his people and give it back to them.
The royal father commended the member for his effort in empowering his electorate and called on his subjects to continue to support to enable to do more for his electorate.
