Speaker Bathiya Formalises Move to APC, Receives Membership Card



Barely a week after his resignation from the PDP and formal realignment with the APC, the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has formalised his defection to APC.


Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, over the weekend, formally visited his Ward and Local Government Area for the first time as APC member. 


Cross section supporters of the Speaker and former PDP members and those from his new party, turned out from the 12 wards in Hong LGA, chanting solidarity and APC slogan. 


Earlier, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who registered at his ward, expressed appreciation to the people of Hong LGA for their continued support and promised to carry everyone alone describing the alignment as another strategy for unity and progress. 


He noted that the alignment with the APC will bring more development to the state and the local government, adding that all of them will work together in accordance with the Constitution of the APC. 


The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress APC who is also from Hong, Dr Raymond Chidama assured that the unity of purpose demonstrated by members of the former PDP and the APC will go a long way in bringing victory to the party in the 2027 elections. 


The Chairman Hong LGA, Hon Usman Inuwa Wa'aganda said the people of Hong now speak with one voice under the APC and call on those who did not register to go and do so. 


Speaking on behalf of all political appointees, a Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Augustine James announced their defection to the APC. 


The former Chairman PDP Hong LGC, Alhaji Ibrahim Ndoti noted that the event marks the dissolution of all party executive into the APC. 


The APC Chairman Hong LGA, Alhaji Iliyasu Masa assured all members of the party of equal treatment.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. News Platform  The court presided by Magistrate M. A. Adamu, remanded the defendant in prison custody and adjourned the case to the 17th September, 2025 for commencement of hearing. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
