Emmanuel Musa's Latest Offerings to Humanity

By Onimisi Alao

Foremost philanthropist and rising politician, Dr Emmanuel Musa did for the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) what he enjoys doing: giving out things.

The President of Emnamu Foundation, at the 2026 Annual Convention of the LCCN, donated N200 million.

This was a cash offering accompanied with other commitments, in form of pledges of 200 employment opportunities for pastors’ children or dependants, and 200 scholarships for pastors’ children or other  dependants who have admission for full degree programs in Nigerian universities.

In the package also are 200 free UTME JAMB registrations, and 10  hand pump boreholes to be constructed across the various dioceses of the LCCN.

Dr Musa, represented at the LCCN convention by Hon Yohana Audu Yoyyo and his Chief of Staff, Comrade Chakukuyada Godwin Kala'a, commended the Archbishop of the LCCN, Most Rev Panti Filibus Musa, for his foresight in advancing the mission of the Church.

The Church leadership and congregation offered heartfelt prayers for God’s protection, wisdom, and continued blessings upon Dr Emmanuel Musa.

The intervention extended to the LCCN is widely seen as reflecting Dr Musa’s dedication to strengthening faith-based institutions and empowering people.

And it is what the energetic philanthropist does frequently, and with ease because, as he has often proclaimed, he loves doing it.

“Giving to those in need is what makes me happy. Giving is my hobby, a hobby I truly enjoy,” Musa told newsmen at the annual Banquet of Gratitude, the grand finale of activities to mark his last birthday.

During the event last December at the Ka'ala Central Field in Hong Local Government Area, Dr Musa said he likes to spread whatever he has because true wealth lies in helping the needy.

“The greatest achievement of mankind is not the accumulation of wealth, but touching the lives of the needy,” he said, stressing that he remains committed to the philosophy.

Earlier, in his address welcoming guests to the Banquet of Gratitude, the National Coordinator of the EMNAMU Foundation, Kukuya Godwin Kala’a, described Emmanuel Musa as a source of hope to the hopeless, relief to the distressed and an enabler of opportunities for young people through his sustained acts of charity over the years.

The EMNAMU Foundation coordinator explained that the Banquet of Gratitude was organised to celebrate a life devoted to service and compassion.

Dr Musa's Banquet of Gratitude which took place on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, came as the finale of a whole week of humanitarian activities organised to mark his birthday.

The earlier activities which took place in separate days in other parts of the state included securing the release of 100 prison inmates and committing his resources to organise free skills training or award academic scholarship to those among them wanting to learn skills or return to school.

He also visited hospitals and settled medical bills for patients; and he reached out to orphans in and outside orphanage homes.

RELIEF FOR DISTRESSED FAMILIES

Dr. Musa typically responds to diverse occurences, as such occurrences demand.

On May 8, 2024, for instance, the occurence was a destructive wind and consequent need for relief materials by affected families.

It was a day that windstorm victims, mostly from Pella town, got roofing sheets, plywood, matresses and cash from the  philanthropist.

The philanthropist, donating the materials under EMNAMU Foundation as usual, said the gesture was his usual way of rising to the emerging needs of people.

The over 50 victims who fell into agony as they were mostly forced out of their homes after the storm took off the roofs of their houses, got equal volumes of the relief items as well as a cash of N100,000 each.

A statement from the EMNAMU Foundation media office explained how the relief intervention was achieved: “Less than 24 hours after the windstorm incident, the humanitarian (Emmanuel Musa), despite being outside the country, directed a committee to go and assess the damage, which gave birth to the immediate presentation of the relief.”

SCHOLARSHIPS

The history of Dr Emmanuel Musa's phylantnropist gestures through the EMNAMU Foundation bears out the reality that scholarship offers is a huge passion for the philanthropist.

Early in 2024, he inaugurated what was described as a mega scholarship program which targetted 7,000 students.

Adamawa State students studying in all tertiary institutions across the country were the targets.

Innuagurating a committee at the time to implement the scheme, Dr Musa charged the members to design the criteria that will ensure an all-inclusive scholarship scheme.

He told the members that his desire was to create a life transforming scholarship that would see that the children of the poor get educated to compete favourably in the job market.

“I want to ensure that all academically hard working students of Adamawa State complete their academic trainings successfully and are not shortchanged by circumstances," Dr Musa vowed.

In words that touched hearts and testified to his determination to make life better for as many people as he could reach, he added, “As much as it lies within my power, no student shall drop out of school for lack of money to pay tuition fees.”
