Legislators at the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday, granted approval for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to review rates payable in respect of large and small animals and grains.
The approval followed a consideration of a letter addressed to the assembly by Governor Fintiri which was read on the floor of the assembly by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas.
Governor Fintiri in the letter pursuant to section 128 of the state revenue administration law number 12 of 2020, sought for approval to review rates for produce inspection and livestock control fees.
While considering the letter, Hon. Alhassan Hammajoda (Ganye), commended the executive for the initiative, and advocated for the establishment of toll gates to enhance revenue generation.
Other lawmakers who made contributions during the sitting, commended Governor Fintiri, for his giant stride in the areas of revenue generation.
Thereafter, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, who presided over the plenary put the motion to voice vote and unanimously supported by lawmakers.
He therefore directed the clerk to the assembly to communicate the resolution of the members to the executive arm for further action.
