A"M SEEKING ELECTION NOT TO AMASS WEALTH BUT MAKE SYSTEM WORK- DD AZURA

A Legal Luminary and PDP Aspirant for Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone, D.D Azura, has said that he is seeking election not to amass wealth but make system work.

He however attributed the current socio economic challenges in the country to the inability of the National Assembly to assert its legislative powers on the executive arm for development to trickle down to the people.

Azura who stated this during media parley in his office on Saturday,  added that he decided to throw his hat in the ring to make name, lay a solid foundation for the youth development.

He said that it is not about money, but the connections one will get while in office to implement ideas, saying that his concern at the moment is to do what will outlive him.

According to him, the major problem of the country is not the executive arm but the failure of the National Assembly to make its laws to work, and attributed it to corruption and incompetency.

"It is not about laws but making the institutions to function effectively. The laws are there, but the problem is lack of implementation so as to strengthen the institutions",  Azura stated.

He observed that many are at the assembly without the knowledge of what it takes to be there, and blamed the electorate for voting people who are not competent but due to religion, tribe and geographical locations.

D.D Azura, posited that he has requisite qualities to provide excellent representation for the zone, and that in all the 7 LGAs which comprise the zone, it is only Hong LGA that could not be able to produce senator.
