A kidnapper, Sadu Ardo Bunkawu, has decried high level of injustice meted to him by other members of the gang while sharing proceeds realised from kidnapping.
Ardo lamented that other members of the criminal group conspired and gave him the sum of N200, 000 only out of the whooping N12 million they collected as ransom.
The 28-year- old Ardo, of Filingo village, Gankiri ward in Jada Local Government Area, Adamawa state confessed that the N12 million was paid to them as ransom when they abducted Alhaji Umaru Diffiwa and Alhaji Umaru Babidi of the same community.
He regretted that the operation was a bad outing for him because even the N200, 000 he collected, got lost while returning back home, explaining that he had lost the money while rushing to reach home on time.
He further explained that the money was paid to 7 of them by the family members of their victims, and that after releasing their victims, he was called upon and given N200, 000 only.
Ardo who confessed to kidnapping, told NEWS PLATFORM that the operation was not beneficial to him at all.
He was earlier arraigned before chief magistrate court I sitting in Yola, by Inspector Rakat Kadams, for the alleged offences of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping contrary to sections 60 and 248(a) of the state penal code law 2018.
When the content of the First Information Report was read and interpreted to him in Fulfulde language while before Chief Magistrate Muhammmed Abdullahi Digil, the accused pleaded guilty to offences.
Earlier, prosecutor informed the honourable court that the defendant conspired with 6 others (names withheld) of various addresses and committed the alleged offence of which he was arraigned.
After the defendant's plea, the prosecutor prayed the court to adjourn matter to enable them complete investigation and transmit case file to DPP for legal advice.
The court granted the application and adjourned the matter to the 4th April, 2022.
