Adamawa State House of Assembly has urged Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, led administration to unravel the circumstances which led to the killing of a 25 year old man in Demsa community.
It could be recalled that yet to known gunmen on Saturday night, killed a young man identified as Sheriff Yongo, of Dong community in Demsa LGA, while 2 others escaped by whiskers.
The victims were said to be returning back from a convention organised by the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria(LCCN) and held in Numan last week.
But the assembly during its sitting presided by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, resolved and urged the government to launch an investigation with a view to unravelling the remote cause of the incident.
Likewise, the assembly has appealed to both the executive arm and security operatives to increase the number of security personnel in Dong community in particular so as to curtail security threats.
The Honourable Members unanimously extended their words of comfort and sympathy to the immediate family of more especially the deceased, Dong community and entire Demsa LGA over the attack.
The assembly's action was sequel to the matter of urgent public interest brought before it by the member representing Demsa constituency, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno.
Hon. Kate had while sponsoring her motion, briefed her colleagues on the incident and asked them to impress on the government to investigate the remote as well as increase in the number more especially the police in the community.
She however appreciated Governor Fintiri for his intervention when she had informed him about the incident, urging the assembly to adopt her prayers and communicate same to the authorities concern.
After adopting the prayers, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, directed the clerk to the assembly to communicate the resolutions to the executive arm for necessary action.
