TWO IN POLICE NET FOR KIDNAPPING, KILLING 6 YRS OLD VICTIM



Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 2 suspected kidnappers for abducting and killing 6 years old victim in Ganye LGA.


The accused apprehended include; Muktar Mohammed, 20 years old and Hussein Suleiman, 20 years, who reside at Bashin village, Yoro LGA, Taraba State.


A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspect were arrested following a complaint to the command by the father of the victim.


SP Nguroje, said that the father of the deceased who resides at Tudun Wada in Ganye LGA, had reported to the police that the suspects invaded his residence and abducted his son known as Eboka Edwin.


According to him, the suspects later called the father via GSM and demanded N10 million as ransom as well as demanded N152 000 from him as feeding fee which he gave them the fee.


He said that after receiving the complaint, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, deployed detectives led by SP Mohammed Yahaya Nuhu, Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) Ganye to rescue the victim and arrest the suspects.


"The team immediately swung into action and arrested two suspects, Muktar Mohammed, 20 years old and Hussein Suleiman, 20 years, all residents of Bashin Village, Yoro Local Government Area, Taraba State", explained Nguroje.


He said during preliminary investigations, the suspects confessed that they had conspired and jointly kidnapped the victim to a forest at the border between Nigeria and Cameroon Republic.


"They added that they killed the victim by inflicting severe injuries on him using a knife and bled to death. Thereafter, they buried the corpse in a shallow grave and kept demanding for ransom, until their arrest", he stated.


He said that the CP had commiserated with the deceased family over the unfortunate incident, reaffirming the Command's commitment to combating all forms of crime and assured that the suspects would be investigated and deligently prosecuted.
