As part of efforts to enhance its capacity to deliver policing services more efficiently, the Adamawa State Police Command has conducted general training for its personnel from various divisions and formations in the state.
According to the Spokesman of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the training was aimed at equipping officers on crime prevention ss well as professional conduct which discharging their official responsibilities.
"The purpose of it is to equip the officers with knowledge and skills on crime prevention strategy and Standard Operational procedures (SOP) and how to swiftly respond to Distress calls in case of emergency", said SP Nguroje.
The exercise was conducted at various Area Commands on Police General Duties, Ethics of Policing, Inter-Agency Collaboration, Police and the public.
More so, it was designed to train them on how to handle military offenders, use of firearms, Social Media Policy Act(2020),Code of Conduct:Extortions & Corrupt practices among others.
The training was a follow-up to the directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD,NPM,
The Commissioner of Police, who was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police, In charge of Operations DCP Olubunmi Olubode Fakeye, held several meetings with strategic Commanders and security actors on the ability to deliver quality service to the populace.
The CP warned officers against engaging in extortion, corrupt practices, incivility to members of the public, and other unprofessional conducts/behaviours that may result in human rights violations.
