Speaker Bathiya, Hon. Alaba, others Observe 40th Day Prayers for Late Godwin Zamfara
The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has joined other dignataries as well as several youths in Hong LGA in observing a Candle Light Procession and Night of Tribute in honour of late Thomas Godwin Zamfara.
Also in the procession were member representing Uba Gaya Constituency at ADHA, Hon. Eng. John Alaba, Commissioner Ministry of Education, Dr. Umar Garba Pella, Chairman Hong LGC and several others.
The event brought together youths from across the state who reiterated their call for justice for the late Thomas Godwin Zamfara.
Late Thomas Godwin Zamfara was gruesomely murdered by some individuals on the 17th April, 2025.
Since then, his departure threw not only his immediate family in the state of mourning, but the community, youths, PDP Hong Local Government Area and the entire LGA and Adamawa State in general.
Fourty days after his demise, the memory and legacy of the late Thomas remain fresh in the hearts of the youths, colleagues and associates; hence, the procession from his family compound in Kala'a.
Rt. Hon. Bathiya, other personalities and youths proceeded to his grave side at Kala'a cemetery and paid their last respect while praying for the repose of the soul of the departed.
Amidst tears and sorrow, the mourners held banners and placards with various inscriptions such as"Justice for Thomas Godwin Zamfara", "Your memory and Legacy Remain in our Hearts", "Your Smiles will be Missed Greatly" and trekked on the major streets in Kala'a, while lighting candles.
The Speaker Adamawa state House of Assembly Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley, described the late Thomas Godwin Zamfara as key player who accommodated everyone around him and prayed God to console the family community and the state at large.
He assured that the law will take its course on all who involved in the dastardly act.
The Speaker extended Senator Aminu Iya Abbas's message of comfort and consolation to the family and the entire community with the assurance of justice for the late Thomas Godwin Zamfara.
The Chairman Hong LGC, Hon. Usman Inuwa Wa'aganda, described late Thomas as a friend and brother who's life was cut short for no reason and called on people to be patience as law will prevail on his killers.
In their separate tributes, the member representing Uba- Gaya Constituency Hon. John Alaba and Commissioner for Education described late Thomas as a good man who lived peacefully with all.
High point of the night of tribute was prayers for his aged parents siblings and other family members.
The 40- Days Prayers at Saint Michael's Catholic Church marks the end of the morning period.
