ADHA Introduces Bill to Create Seal of Adamawa State

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has introduced a bill for a law create seal of Adamawa State. News Platform  The bill was initiated by the executive arm of government to create a seal which according sources will serve as a symbol of authority. The bill which scaled 1st and 2nd reading at the assembly on Wednesday, will equally provide for the regulation on the use of the seal if finally created. Already, the bill has been committed to the committee on Yourh, Sports, Culture and Tourism and given one week to report back. The Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided over the sitting, referred the bill to the committee for further legislative action.

Yola Flooding: Senator Adamawa Central Donates 10Million, Relief Materials to Victims

Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, has donated N10 million to victims of flooding in Yola South LGA. Aside the money, the Senator equally donated bags of rice, maize, mats, blankets and sundry relief materials to the victims. Senator donated the N10million as well as the items on Wednesday, while on the spot assessment of the level damages caused by the recent flooding. 16-Yr Old Beats Stepmother to Death in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has detained a 16 years old, identified as Ijai Anthony as well as his mother for alleged culpable homicide. Ijai, who hails from Pallam community in Madagali LGA, allegedly beat up his stepmother, Victoria Anthony, with piece of wood on the head leading to her death. The suspect was said to have perpetrated the heinous crime during a quarrel which ensued between his own mother, Rhoda Anthony, 55, and the deceased. A release by the police command and signed by its Spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspects have been arrested and  currently in protective custody undergoing investigation. SP Nguroje said that the victim was confirmed dead when she was rushed to the Cottage Hospital Madagali by the operatives of the command for treatment. According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, who condemned the incident, ordered for thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has summoned all the 21 Local Government Council Chairmen to appear on the floor of the assembly in order to account for their stewardship in the last oner year. News Platform  The LGC Bosses are expected to start appearing at the hallowed chamber for an oversight interface on the 5th August, 2025, as resolved by the lawmakers. According to the assembly, every Chairman shall come along with the following key documents and information including a comprehensive scorecard summarizing achievements and activities over the past year. Man Stabs Father to Death during Quarrel in Adamawa

Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a middle age man identified as Idi Buba for stabbing his biological father to death. According to a release by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspct killed his father during quarrel in Fotta Community, Gombi LGA. He said that Idi Buba had attacked his father, Buba Jelli by stabbing him in the neck and back with a knife, during a domestic altercation. He explained that the victim was immediately rushed to the Primary Health Care Center in Fotta, and died while receiving treatment. The suspect according to him was arrested at the scene of the crime, and recovered the knife which he had used in attacking the victim and also recovered the weapon which will be treated as an exhibit. No fewer than 400 farmers in Gella Community, Mubi South Local Government Area, Adamawa State were equipped with crucial skills in indigenous erosion control and climate-smart agricultural practices during a nine-day intensive training program. Police Foil Kidnap Attempt, Nab 2 Suspects in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspected kidnappers in connection to a threat to kidnap a resident of Song LGA. The operatives of the command recovered SIM Card, Handset, others from the suspects according a release by the Spokesman of the Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje. SP Nguroje explained that the arrest followed a complaint from one Hassan Musa Dabutu of Song LGA, who had reported receiving threatening calls from an unknown subscriber, that they are coming to kidnap him unless he pays a certain amount of money. According to him, the complainant also raised concern that his family had earlier suffered a series of kidnappings, where a total sum of twenty million naira (₦20,000,000.00) was paid as ransom to secure the release of abducted family members. Two Project Officers Docked for Diverting World Bank Project Funds in Adamawa

Two Project Officers of the Adamawa State Education Investment Project under the Office of the Accountant General of Adamawa State have been arraigned for allegedly diverting world bank funds released for the renovation of public schools damaged by Boko Haram in the state. The defendants, Popoona Samuel and Arama Davies Gyandi were arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).  Popoona and Arama were brought before Justice Tijjani G. Ringin, on a four-count charge bordering on money laundering and retention/conversion of proceeds. Alimat Care Foundation Launches Indigenous Erosion Control in Adamawa LGA

A new initiative aimed at combating erosion and improving livelihoods through indigenous and climate-smart agricultural practices was officially launched today at Gella community in Mubi South LGA. The project, titled "Indigenous Erosion Control Through Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices in Gella, Mubi South LGA, Adamawa State". A bill for a law to establish the Adamawa State College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies Gulak, Madagali LGA has scaled 1st reading at the Adamawa State House of Assembly. News Platform  The 1st reading of the bill followed a motion by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Ahmed Jingi Belel (Maiha Constituency) and seconded by Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali Constituency) during Wednesday plenary. Adamawa Police Vow to Enforce 24hr Curfew Declared on Lamurde LGA

Adamawa State Police Command on Saturday vowed enforce the 24 hour curfew declared on Lamurde LGA by the state government. The 24-hour curfew declared by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri followed violent attacks and breach of peace in some communities in Lamurde LGA. The Chief Magistrate Court III sitting in Yola Adamawa State on Friday, ordered the remand of a Frontline Philantropist, Dr. Emmanuel Musa, and 3 others in prison custody for allegedly killing Thomas Godwin Zamfara. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has secured the conviction in a case involving a staff of the Federal Ministry of Aviation, Elvis Simon Okerenyi. The convict was facing charges bordering on forgery and giving “fake employment” to a job-seeker. Investigations revealed that Mr. Okerenyi had allegedly defrauded a job seeker, Titus Tavershima, of the sum of (N1,000,000.00) One Million Naira to secure employment in the Federal Civil Service. This act is contrary to Section 320 and punishable under Section 322 of the Penal Code, Cap 532, Laws of the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, 2006.
