Archbishop Panti Filibus Sympathises with Yola Flood Victims
The Archbishop Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, Most. Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, has extended heartfelt sympathy to the victims of flooding in Yola South LGA, Adamawa State.
The devastating flooding which affected Yolde Pate, Modire, Shagari, Sabon Pegi, and other settlements in Yola resulted in the loss of lives, displacement of thousands of people and destruction of properties.
Bishop Panti on behalf of the Lutheran Church commiserated with the victims more especially those who lost their loved ones as well as properties.
"With a heavy heart, I mourn alongside the people and communities of Yola South LGA of Adamama state. This tragic incident has led to significant loss of lives, destruction of properties displacement of thousands, and considerable unrest and confusion as many families are separated", he stated.
He commended the Adamama Adamawa State government, Police Command, and the 23rd Armoured Brigade, Yola for their prompt response in rescueing some of the affected persons.
"I also appreciate all forms of humanitarian and relief support from the Adamama Adamawa State government, non-governmental organizations, civil society groups to the displaced persons.
"On behalf of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, I offer our deepest condolences to the families who have suffered immense losses", he stated..
