Adamawa Assembly C"tte, Ministry Pledge to Boost Water Supply
Adamawa State House of Assembly Committee on Water Resources headed by the Member representing Michika constituency, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, has successfully conducted its budget defence for 2026.
The committee hosted the Commissioner, Permanent Secretary and other management staff of the Ministry as well as heads of agencies who defended the budget of their respective organisations.
Recall that last week, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, presented the 2026 budget estimates to the assembly for considering and approval; hence, the invitation of ministry, departments and agencies for defence.
Speaking while declaring the budget defence open, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, commended Governor Fintiri for presenting the budget for approval in line with the provision of the constitution.
The Lawmaker applauded the membership of the committee as well as the Commissioner and other principal officers for availing themselves for the exercise, and described the defence as very important for good governance.
He said that the committee has been working harmoniously with the ministry and pledged to sustain the cordial working relationship with the ministry in the interest of the state.
Responding, the Commissioner Ministry of Water Resources, Hon. Ayuba Audu Tanko, commended the effort of the ministry towards ensuring that his ministry perform better.
Hon. Ayuba, stated that his ministry has confidence in the leadership of the committee, and appreciated them for the warm reception.
He disclosed that it is only in 4 LGAs that are yet to be reached out in terms of water supply, and promised to effectively implement the 2026 budget as provided.
He solicited for necessary support from the committee to enable the ministry deliver so as to meet the expectations of the general public.
