Just In: Adamawa Assembly Approves N583bn Budget for Fintiri
The Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday, considered and approved the sum of N583.3billion budget estimate for the services of the state in the year 2026. News Platform
It could be recalled that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri recently presented N583.3billion budget estimate to the Hallowed Chamber for consideration and passage.
The approval of the budget followed the consideration of the report of the House Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation headed by Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri of Madagali constituency.
The report was duly considered after Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa Constituency) moved that the assembly be dissolved into the committee of supply to enable it consider the report.
The assembly dissolved into the committee of supply, considered and subsequently adopted the report after which the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno moved a motion for the third reading of the bill and seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Suleiman Alkali (Yola North).
Commenting on the budget, the Majority Leader of the assembly, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno(Demsa) said that the budget is all about the citizens, assuring that the citizens are going to benefit tremendously from it considering the indices therein.
According to her, the assembly deemed it fit to pass it considering its importance to the citizens.
Speaking, the Chairman of the committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation, Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri, explained that the approval will enable Governor Fintiri to continue with the work he has been doing for the state in 2026.
Hon. Haruna said that they are not surprised with the budget presented by Governor Fintiri considering his giant strides in critical sectors and expressed optimism that the Governor is going to do more than what he has done for the citizens.
