Christmas Signifies Hope, Salvation to Humanity-Gov Fintiri
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reminded Christians that Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ, signifies hope and salvation brought to the world in need of redemption.
Fintiri said that the world would be a better place if the values and virtues reflected by the holy birth of Christ, especially the love for one another were imbibed and practiced faithfully.
He stated in his Christmas message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou and made available to newsmen in Yola, Adamawa.
He urged the citizens to give thanks to the Almighty “for the grace, provision, and protection extended to us as individuals, families, communities, as a Nation, and as humanity”.
He said that the “Holy and festive season reminds us of our shared humanity and the common values that unite us irrespective of religion or tribe.”
“Regrettably, the Nation has had to contend with the worst security and economic crisis of our time.”
He said the profound message heralded by Christmas-Christ’s luminous teachings continue to inspire hope and possibilities, despite the uncertainties that continue to confront Nigeria.
He noted that timeless message of God's enduring and unconditional love for every person fortifies the people of the state in times of adversity, and challenges each one to be better.
“Therefore, during this blessed season, let us all share the gift of God's love by giving of ourselves and sharing generously with all those in need.
"Let us use this blessed and sacred season to love our neighbours as we love ourselves, and to lay the foundation for a more fair, just, prosperous and cohesive society. Let us heed the call of the Great Unifier and leave any discord behind, so that we may march boldly into a better future together.”
“From my family to yours, here is to a Merry Christmas, full of joy and the fruits of family and friendship. As you safely and responsibly celebrate, we wish you a Merry Christmas and bountiful returns. God bless you all; God bless Adamawa", he prayed.
