Adamawa CJ Frees 113 Inmates, Convicts 23 at Mubi, other Prisons
The Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee has discharged a total of 113 inmates as well as convicted 23 at Mubi, Maiha, Hong and Dumne correctional centres. News Platform
The committee chaired by the Chief Judge Adamawa state, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, also reviewed the sentences of 137 and granted bail to 8 inmates during prison decongestion.
She discharged 65 inmates, reviewed the sentences of 76, granted bail to 5 and convicted 19 at Mubi and discharged 15 and reviewed the sentences of 21 at Maiha correctional centres respectively.
Justice Hafsat discharged 19 inmates at Hong Custodial Centre, granted bail to 3, convicted 3 and reviewed the sentences of 20, and freed 14, convicted 1 and reviewed the sentences of 20 at Dumne correctional centre.
While addressing the beneficiaries at various correctional centres, the Chief congratulated them and cautioned them against committing crime.
She advised them to be of good behaviour and avoid acts that will land them into prison, and urged them to contribute meaningfully for the development of the society.
Baring his mind, the Officer in Charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre Mubi, Alan Linus, said that the exercise is something that they have all been waiting for more especially the inmates.
Linus said it provides opportunity for the lucky ones to ge reunited with their family members and applauded the entire exercise.
He advised the beneficiaries to sustain the reformatory process they have started getting at the centre and urged them to be responsible citizens in the society.
While at Dumne correctional centre in Song LGA, the Chief Judge used the opportunity and paid courtesy visit on the Chairman Song LGC, Hon. Idris Yahaya and the Paramount Ruler of Yungur Chiefdom, HRM, Johnson Diyo Matalo
