ADHA to Ensure Successful Implementation of Education Budget. Hon. Alaba



The Adamawa State House of Assembly has expressed its readiness to provide full legislative backing for the successful implementation of the proposed 2026 budget, aimed at promoting development and growth across the state.


This assurance was given by the Chairman, House Standing Committee on Education, who also represents Uba/Gaya Constituency, Hon. John Adam Alaba, during a budget defence session with the management of Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Augustine Clement.

Hon. John Adum Alaba explained that the essence of the budget defence is to enable the legislature to critically examine budgetary allocations to MDAs, ensuring effective and transparent utilisation of public funds.

He noted that the current Assembly is determined to ensure that all government appropriations and expenditures strictly comply with constitutional provisions and best practices.

The lawmaker also used the opportunity to commend Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his interventions in the education sector, adding that the Assembly is prepared to provide the necessary legal framework to support the growth and development of educational institutions in the state.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi, Professor Augustine Clement, described the budget defence exercise as successful and commended members of the House Standing Committee on Education for their maturity and professionalism during the process.

Prof. Clement assured the House that the university management would address the observations raised by the committee to ensure the realization of the institution’s objectives.

He further acknowledged the numerous interventions and support received from the Fintiri-led administration and appealed for continued support to enhance the growth and development of the university.
