The Nigeria Northeast Connection Program (NNCP) has rounded up its 2 year intervention program on the 25th January, 2023.
The activities of the organisation came to a close on the 25th January, in an elaborate event graced by the development professionals as well as CSO/CBO stakeholders.
Others who added colour to the event include; traditional leaders, security operatives, and community representatives from program implementation states and locations.
In his opening speech at the event, the Chief of Party NE Connection, Albert Pam, gave an overview of the program compressing in time the two-year intervention window to give participants a sense of the gains achieved within the time frame the program lasted.
Albert Pam along side the Program Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), Mr. Adanu Christian Oyigocho, gave an analytic review of the program with indicators and verifiable facts of the approaches.
According to them, it was thought provoking strategies adopted to make the program dynamic and reach the milestones it is celebrating at the event which has been said will outlive the program because of the structures established in communities where the program was implemented.
The representative of USAID, the funding organization, Mr. Mukhtari Shittu, made a moving speech about the quality and tenacity of the NE Connection staff, highlighting the gains achieved over a short period.
He urged the staff to take with them everywhere they go the quality of work and professionalism they exhibited on the program everywhere they go.
They were a couple of commentaries by other professionals, government, and CSO representatives that added color to the event.
The close out event was laced with a bitter-sweet experience as while the success of the program was celebrated, the pain of parting with loved ones, communities of activity, and colleagues cut deep.
