YOLA COURT REMANDS 17 YEAR OLD GIRL FOR STABBING FEMALE NEIGHBOUR


A 17 year old girl, Charity Bulus of Unguwan Jauro Buba, Vunoklang in Girei Local Government Area, Adamawa state has been remanded in a prison custody for stabbing a female neighbour.

The suspect and student of Government Day Secondary, Vunoklang stabbed her female neighbour, Maria James with a knife 4 times on the 2nd March, 2020.

Charity, according to prosecution, used kitchen knife and stabbed her Maria when the duo engaged each other in a fight, causing a grievous hurt on the victim contrary to section 220 of Adamawa state Penal Code Law.

The victim, who is now receiving treatment due to grievous wounds inflicted on her, was stabbed by the teenager on stomach and shoulder about 4 times.

Charity who was charged before Magistrate Mohammed Abubakar led Upper Area Court I,  pleaded guilty for the offence after the First Information Report was read and explained to her.

The culprit told the court that her action was not intentional and pleaded for forgiveness and further urged the court to temper justice with mercy.

After her plea, the Prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa asked the court to adjourn the matter to enable them assembly witnesses to corroborate her plea of guilty as the offence according to him is so grievous.

There after, court presided by Magistrate Abubakar adjourned the matter to 26th March, 2020, to enable the victim call witnesses to corroborate the plea, and ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody until the day.
